Brooke’s Song “Thread”

8 April 2014, Age 18

 “Thread”

“So I wrote the lyrics of this song on Sunday, April 6th (Jesus’s b-day) after General Conference.

The rhythm is to the song “Collide” by Howie Day. I just made up my own lyrics.”

Verse1:

My thoughts are racing. Nowhere to turn to. I sit in silence, with my own point of view

They try to stop me, they call it a mistake. What they don’t know is that my heart’s about to break.

Chorus:

They don’t hear the thoughts inside my head. They don’t cry the tears that fill my bed. They don’t see the cuts that run so red. You can’t mend me with a simple thread.

Verse 2:

So lonely I cry, my wilderness in disguise. These drugs will never heal my broken torn-up life.

Verse 3:

Rain falls on my face- the tears get displaced. God help me, save me with Your everlasting grace.

Chorus 2 (end):

You hear the thoughts inside my head. Help me cry the tears that fill my bed. You see the cuts that run so red. Save me, mend me, with your atoning thread.

End song

“Tears are the healing waters”

I just really like this quote.
