Our Precious Daughter Returned to Heaven

My heart is aching more than I knew possible. Our precious daughter Brooke Folkman returned to heaven last night. Her brief mortal journey was full of joy and so much love, light and laughter! Yet, she struggled for years with devastating mental health challenges that lead to a battle with addictions and unrelenting mental and emotional pain. She fought the demons bravely! It was a daily battle for her. Despite this pain, she loved life! She Loved So Deeply! To know Brooke was to Love her. She loved all people and every living creature upon this earth! I rarely ever heard her speak an unkind word about any living soul. Last night she passed away due to an unintentional drug overdose. We are certain it was unintentional because we have been traveling this road with Brooke for many years and last night was nothing out of the ordinary. She was excited about her plans for the day the next morning, plans with her darling boyfriend Guillermo and their beloved dog Indie. Her last text to me late last night was that she was heading to bed so that she could get up earlier this morning. Yet that was not to be, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. She suffered in life but she did not suffer in death. I have learned so much from my precious daughter Brooke! She clung to her faith through debilitating trials, she never stopped fighting the battles she faced, she had the greatest empathy for any suffering soul and the kindest listening ear. I find great peace knowing that my precious baby girl is now in the arms of Jesus, free of the pains she endured in this mortal body. We have found peace in the temple, peace through prayer, peace between the crushing waves of grief and shock as we try to process our deepest loss! Thank you to all who Loved, Prayed and Cheered for my precious daughter Brooke! She undoubtedly knows how dearly loved she is!!
